ABING WAS HEALED

“Go into all the world and preach the good news to
all creation…. And these signs will accompany those who believe. In my Name
they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up
snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, if will not hert
them at all, they will place their hands on sick people and they will get
well.” Mark 16: 15-18.
One of our goals in our 2011 strategic
planning was to reach out the Sitio Bahayao. It is a 40-minute walk from our
mission field. As we shared the gospel to them, we also ministered to the sick.
Since we came here, people used to come to us and asked for natural remedies
especially prayer for healing.
One
night, just after we prayed, Yaway came to us shouting, “Mam please come to
Abing. She can no longer eat, and her mouth was left open,” explaining the
phenomenon. We prepared ourselves and
uttered a short prayer because we know that we are on a spiritual battle again.
Some young adults accompanied us. When we arrived, people from neighborhood
were there. We heard someone saying, “They are already here.” We got inside the
house and found Abing sitting on the floor with her mouth wide open and her
husband beside her. Kenny came closer and interviewed her. She had locked jaw.
After getting the information from her, Kenny announced that we can do nothing.
What we need to do is to draw her to the Great Physician. We invited them to pray for Abing. We held
each others hands. After we prayed, we told her to relax and to pray
continually. Then we left and leave everything in the hands of God, the Great
Healer.
The next morning, we were having our
morning devotional when we heard from the outside saying, “Abing is already
well!” We looked at each other with a smile on our faces. Right after the devotional
we visited her and found her sweeping their backyard. She smiled widely when
she saw us and said, “Ma’am, thank you so much for your prayers! Last night
after you left, I opened my Bible and read a short passage and prayed. After a
while I felt like yawning, and then my jaw suddenly returned.” We offered a prayer of thanks to God for healing. It’s a great
testimony of how God works through us!
Dear faith-partners please include us in
your prayers. May our presence here be a channel of God’s love for them. Please
pray for the Buhid people!

It is inspiring to see students who are eager to learn. Here in Buhid Mangyan, we conducted Literacy Program & VBS. You also need a lot of patience with the slow-learners.
I asked myself, “Will they also be interested to study the Bible?” God answered it immediately. I saw the people, from the children to the parents, singing praises & thanks to God joyfully.
One night, Atot, shared his experience. He told us the change in her life since he met Christ, and he wanted to share also what He has experienced with Christ to the people here. We encouraged him to continue studying God’s Word and asked God to give him wisdom.
We believe that there are still a lot of people round the world who thirst for God’s Word. Let us work energetically because a lot of people are dying without hope. Pray for more workers!
SEEKER OF TRUTH

Uyak is one of our friends, isa din siya sa malapit kina mam rose (dating missionary). She used to bring us any kind of root crops and somtimes fruits. Isang araw, siya ay pumunta sa bahay, meron siyang dalang kamoteng kahoy sa kabilang kamay at ang isang kamay ay nakatago sa likod niya. Nung tanungin ko sya kung ano ang itanatago niya, ay nahihiya pa siya habang ipinapakita ang bible na dala niya na nakabalot pa sa damit. “Ma'am gusto ko sanang magpaturo kasi meron akong binabasa pero hindi ko nauunawaan." Marami siyang mga talata na ibinigay sa akin at isa isa ko ring ipinaliwanag sa kanya ang nga iyon.
Noong matapos na kami ay nagpasalamat siya sa akin. Sinabi ko sa kanya na sa Dios kami dapat magpasalamat dahil ang Dios pa rin ang gumagawa ng paraan para ihayag ang katotohanan sa nga taong tapat na naghahanap ng katotohanan. Sinabi pa niya na pupuntahan niya kami kapag may hindi siya maunawaan na mga talata dahil mas panatag daw siyang sa'min magpaturo kesa sa kanilang mga leaders, lalo lang daw siyang naguguluhan sa paliwanag nila. Sinabi ko sa kaniya na ipagpatuloy ang pagsasaliksik ng Bibliya at manalangin bago magbasa na gabayan ng Banal na Espiritu. "Alam ng Panginoon kung sino ang faithful seeker of truth at siya din ang tatawag sa iyo."
Ishinare ko sa kanya ang John 10:14. Bago siya umalis, ay pinakain muna namin siya ng lunch. Masaya siya noong siya ay pauwi na at nagpasalamat.
Samahan niyo po kami sa pagpapanalangin sa mga kaibigan nating mga Mangyan, sila po ay tunay na uhaw sa Salita ng Dios.
